Volunteer Opportunities

 
Volunteer to Serve at Mass
Ministers of the Eucharist--Ministers of the Eucharist assist at the Mass by distributing the the body and blood of Christ during Mass.  The ministers also bring Christ in the Eucharist to parishioners who are homebound, and Catholics who are in local nursing homes and hospitals.

Ministers of the Word--Ministers of the Word are commonly called Lectors and assist at Mass by reading the first two readings and reciting the intercessions of our parish in the prayers of the faithful.

Altar Servers--Altar Servers carry the cross and candles to lead the procession into and out of Mass and assist the priest at the Eucharistic table during parish celebrations of the liturgy.  Any person, male or female, in the fifth grade or older is called to this ministry.  Training is provided, as well as proper liturgical robes.

Choir--Members of our Cherub, Children's Choir and Adult Choir add their musical voices to help us lift high our voices in prayer to God at Mass.  The Cherub Choir is open to all children in Grades 1-2 and they sing once a month at the 10:00AM Sunday Mass whenever there is Sunday School. The Children's Choir is open to all children in Grades 3-8 and they sing at the 10:00 AM Sunday Mass whenever there is Sunday School.  The Adult Choir is open to all parishioners High School age or older and they sing at the 11:30 AM Sunday Mass during the Fall, Winter and Spring.  The contemporary Music Group performs at the 1:00PM Mass. Singers, guitarists, keyboard players and drummers are welcome. All Choirs are always looking for new members.

Ministers of Hospitality--These individuals, male or female, extend the greetings of the parish to all who enter our Eucharistic celebrations on Sundays, Holy Days and special occasions.  These ministers also assist in collecting the people's offerings at Mass and in organizing the brining of the gifts to the altar.  We are always looking for new ministers of hospitality to help make our Masses more inviting for everyone. 

Volunteer to Teach
Religious Education--Our Parish provides religious education to students attending area public schools in grade1 through grade 8.  Our Religious Education program leads our young people through the gospel message to live and love as Jesus calls us to live and love.  The messages of scripture, joined with sacramental appreciation assists our students to hopefully develop a commitment to our church and our God. We are always looking for teachers to teach classes in the sessions after the 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM Mass and Monday evenings 7:00 to 8:30pm.
Ministry for Liturgical Life: This ministry assists in planning the details of Sunday masses and special occasions. This ministry focuses on the scriptural, musical and liturgical decorations for each season of the liturgical year.
Youth Ministry:  This ministry offers a varied program for two age groups of youth.  The High School age group and the Junior High School age group.  Each group meets once a week for discussions and varied activities throughout the year.
