Parents are the primary catechists in preparing children to receive the sacrament of Eucharist. Preparation for reception of Holy Communion begins in the first grade and the sacrament is received at the end of the second grade year. The catechists work closely with parents in this preparation. First Holy Communion is celebrated after reception of the Sacrament of Penance. All children who are to receive the sacrament must be enrolled and regularly attend Faith Formation classes on Sundays and participate in communal dimensions (liturgy, prayer services etc.)
Adults who desire to receive Holy Eucharist will be enrolled in the Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA).
